Les Armstrong founded Mobile Electric in 1956 and it continues as a family run business to this day.
We are a wholesale/retail electrical supply company with a large stocking inventory of residential, commercial, industrial products. We also specialize in having a large variety of out-of-production and hard-to-find items.
We serve electrical contractors, retail hardware, maintenance/facility managers, local city and county governments as well as large public companies.
Mobile Electric provides customers with very specialized service. Many of our staff have 20 plus years of experience in the electrical field which allows us to intelligently work with our clientele to determine product needs for their individual projects. Our project staff is very knowledgeable and experienced in bid preparation and project management.
Mobile Electric is also a qualified woman-owned small business with many certifications that are mandated by government entities and large corporations to meet workforce diversity requirements for their projects.

Projects

Mobile Electric furnished specialized airfield lighting materials for the MALSR approach lighting upgrade at Pangborn Memorial Airport. The project enhances runway visibility and approach safety, ensuring dependable guidance for pilots during low-visibility conditions.

For WSDOT’s I-5 & I-205 Ramp Metering project, Mobile Electric supplied electrical systems designed for intelligent traffic management. Our materials helped modernize freeway on-ramp controls, improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and increasing roadway safety across the Vancouver and Clark County corridor.

Mobile Electric is proud to support the City of Seattle’s transition toward cleaner transportation. We provided EV charging infrastructure materials and technical supply support to expand public charging access across the city, helping Seattle advance its sustainability and electrification initiatives.

Working alongside WSDOT, Mobile Electric contributed key electrical components for the Redmond Central Connector Phase III improvements. The project strengthens multimodal connections and integrates sustainable lighting systems that align with state transportation and environmental goals.

The SR-520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is a massive corridor‐wide infrastructure project, replacing the aging floating bridge over Lake Washington, adding transit/HOV lanes, and improving connections between Seattle and its Eastside suburbs.
